Privacy and cookie statement

The website www.stichtingrotterdam.nl only uses functional cookies, which do not store any personal data but are necessary for the proper functioning of the website.

Personal data may be received via www.stichtingrotterdam.nl (hereinafter the “website”), a website of Stichting Rotterdam (hereinafter also “we”). We respect the privacy of the users of our site and ensure that personal information we receive from you is processed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations for the protection of personal data, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and is treated confidentially.

In our processing, we comply with the requirements of privacy legislation. This means, among other things, that:

  • we take appropriate security measures to protect personal data and require the same from parties that process personal data on our behalf;
  • we respect your right to access, correct, transfer, restrict the processing of, or delete your personal data at your request.

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • processing and assessing donation applications, including all resulting actions;
  • obtaining external advice on applications, whether or not with the aid of AI-assisted analysis.

We process the following categories of personal data:

  • name and address details;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • other personal information provided by you (including unsolicited information).

We retain your personal data for as long as we are legally permitted or required to do so. Data submitted in connection with a donation application is retained for at least as long as necessary to fully process your application.

All data received in connection with a donation application may be shared with third parties for advisory purposes, without prior consultation and without the imposition of confidentiality. This may include the use of AI-assisted analysis, whereby application data is processed by external software platforms. No automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR takes place: the final assessment of applications is always made by natural persons.

We will not otherwise disclose personal data unless you have given your consent, or we are permitted or required to do so by law. Where necessary to provide our services, we may share your data with our ICT service providers.

We take appropriate security measures to limit misuse of and unauthorised access to your personal data:

  • logical access control using passwords;
  • physical and organisational measures for access security;
  • securing network connections via SSL technology;
  • purpose-bound access restrictions.

This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites linked to our website. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of those websites.

If you have provided us with personal data, you may request us to access, amend, transfer or delete such data. You also have the right to object to processing or to request the restriction of processing. You can submit such a request using the contact details at the bottom of this statement.

Under privacy legislation, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Stichting Rotterdam reserves the right to amend this privacy statement. Changes will be published on the website.
